Clinics & Services

The practice follows the General Medical Services Contract for the provision of healthcare services. This includes:

Management of long term conditions  - asthma, COPD, coronary heart disease, diabetes, hypertension

Routine health screening - cervical smears, blood tests, ECGs

Contraceptive services - advice about contraception and insertion of IUS or IUD, contraceptive implants

Minor surgery - removal of skin lesions, joint injections

First contact physiotherapy

Community Link Worker

Primary Care Mental Health - If you have a concern regarding your mental health you can now self-refer directly to the Primary Care Mental Health Service without speaking to a clinician first. Travel Vaccinations

If you think you might need vaccinations or anti malaria tablets before you go away you can make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. They can help decide what you need, based on which countries (and areas within countries) you are visiting.

You should make any travel-related appointment as soon as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel. You will need one appointment to discuss and plan your vaccines and another to receive them. Most travel vaccines have to be specially ordered. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS so you may be charged for this service.

Non-NHS Services

Some services we provide are not covered under our contract with the NHS and you will have to pay for them. Examples include:

Prescriptions for taking medication abroad

Private sick notes

Vaccination certificates

Fees for these services are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales. Our reception staff can tell you how much you will have to pay and when appointments are available.
